Course Requirements

  • A Master’s degree (Level 7 qualification or equivalent, 90–120 ECTS) in Interpretation Studies, Translation Studies, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Languages, Communication Studies, International Relations, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong academic and/or professional background in interpretation or multilingual communication.
  • Submission of a doctoral research proposal in Interpretation Studies, Intercultural Communication, or related fields.
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Two academic or professional reference letters.
  • Proof of English language proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent), if applicable.
  • Interview or research proposal defense (if required by the institution).

    School of Languages is a franchise of GenevaTech Institute, Switzerland, specializing in innovative technologies and language education that equip learners with the skills required to meet today's global employment demands.

    Mode of Learning


    The School of Languages follows a blended learning model, combining:

    Despite its flexible learning environment, the school maintains a rigorous assessment and evaluation system comparable to that of conventional higher education institutions.


    The curriculum follows a Modular Learning Approach, allowing students to master each language level before progressing to more advanced stages through structured assessments.


    Students enjoy complete flexibility to study at their own pace, time, and location. Language programs are offered across Taaleem Foundation facilities as well as Innoversity campuses, providing opportunities to participate in a wide range of academic and cultural activities.


    All course materials are developed by highly qualified language specialists. The faculty is experienced in teaching learners from diverse educational backgrounds, including those with little or no prior literacy skills.

    Student Exchange Program


    Through our European academic partners, eligible students have the opportunity to participate in international exchange programs and study on campus in Switzerland.


    Students wishing to spend one or more semesters in Switzerland are encouraged to study French, the primary language spoken in Geneva, to facilitate academic and cultural integration.




    Dissertation / Teaching Practice


    During the final semester, students are required to complete either:


    * A dissertation based on original research, or

    * A supervised teaching practice.


    The teaching practice option is offered upon recommendation by the Head of Department and approval from Innoversity and the respective European academic partners.


    Course Outcomes

    Upon successful completion of the PhD in Interpretation Studies, graduates will be able to:

    1. Conduct original, high-impact research in interpretation theory and practice.
    2. Develop advanced theoretical frameworks for understanding interpreting processes and multilingual communication.
    3. Analyze cognitive processes involved in simultaneous and consecutive interpretation.

    6. Design and evaluate interpretation training models for professional interpreter development.

    9. Assess ethical, cultural, and professional standards in global interpretation practices.
    10. Lead interdisciplinary research projects involving linguistics, communication, and technology.

    13. Contribute to policy and standards development for international interpretation services.
    14. Supervise and mentor emerging researchers and interpreter trainees.
